The Langar Project

Currently we are running the Langar London and are organising Langar Birmingham, so please join us.

Inspiration for the project
S.S. Gurubachan Singh Khalsa has been carrying the Guru’s teachings, flying all over the South American continent with a team of volunteers to share the message of Shabad Guru and the experience of Kundalini Yoga. He has been Yogi Bhajan’s cook for 25 years and was asked by him to do The Lord of Miracles tour. Gurubachan Singh Khalsa visited the Project Naad team in January 2008 and suggested that Langar London be started, just like similar initiatives which he has inspired all over South America.

Aims of the project
To serve free food selflessly to those in need of it on a monthly basis.

Langar London Timetable
The timetable and venues vary depending on when and which service you would like to help with. Please get in touch with our team for the current opportunities available.

Things you will need
1) You will need a car to transport the food to its destination
2) It is advisable to have at least 3 people to load and serve meals.

How can you get involved?
If you would like to find out more please contact us.

Feedback on Langar London
Below is listed some of the beautiful feedback which we have received as part of the Langar London selfless service project:

“Dear Vineet, First of all may I apologise for not emailing you before now but I have been so involved in closing down another hostel in preparation for demolishing that I have hardly been at my normal place of work. Anyway, I would just like to thank you and all the others in your group for the food which you so kindly brought for our residents on the 29th Feb. It went wonderfully well and everyone really enjoyed it! It was so very kind of you all and we do appreciate so much. Would you please pass this on to your colleagues and once again, I’m sorry for the lateness of this email. My very best wishes to you all” John - Manager of a Homeless Shelter in East London

“Thank you from all at Heather Lodge for the delicious food. The tenants at Heather Lodge really enjoy it and it also creates a social gathering in the communal lounge when they sit down to eat together. The tenants were really pleased with soaps and shampoos. We will be very happy to receive this great service again.” Katie - Manager of a Mental Health Shelter in East London

“Dear Vineet, thank you for such a lovely email, it has really made my day!! I am so pleased that all is going well for you and I am quite humbled by your obvious good heart and kindness. It really is a pleasure to know you, albeit electronically! I do hope everything continues in a positive way for you all, Once again, my thanks and respect to you all” John - Manager of a Homeless Shelter in East London

I had excellent feedback from the tenants at Heather Lodge. They said the food was very tasty and would like to receive this service again from you if possible. We have your containers washed and ready for collection. Thank you so much for your very kind donation. Please let me know if or when you will be visiting us again. Katie - Manager of a Mental Health Shelter in East London

Dear Vineet, On behalf of the residents at the Dellow may I thank you all for the kind donation of food you once again provided for us. Everyone enjoyed it tremendously and say that it was delicious.
